In 2000, I moved to Boulder, Colorado with my two sweet cats, Nazare and Chloe, to attend a clairvoyant program where I enhanced my animal communication skills.

I also teach classes and workshops on animal communication and spirituality. In addition, I mentor many gifted animal communicators who have taken advanced courses with me.

As a child, it seemed natural to “just know” what an animal was feeling or thinking. Each summer while visiting my grandparents’ farm in Kansas, I renewed friendships with Susie, their dachshund; Pepper and Flicka, our horses; and Daisy, the milking cow.
Pepper, a gentle Shetland/Quarter horse, and I rode together through the countryside year after year. As he aged, he walked more slowly.
After one peaceful outing when I was a teenager, I knew he preferred that I not ride him again. And I didn’t. I thought everyone had the ability to receive information like this from animals. Instead of riding, I talked with him as he grazed contentedly in the pasture. I valued our soul-to-soul connection this way even more than being on his back.
The natural world always called to me and I spent a lot of time outdoors. On one warm, summer night after dark at the farm, I sat alone on the porch steps marveling at an infinity of fireflies as they twinkled across the wide expanse of open space. Time stood still as each one blinked a rhythmic greeting. I felt as if I were witnessing a symphonic performance, just for me.
Later, as a young adult, I raised two tiny birds to maturity — Alfred, a starling, and years later, Binky, a robin. When each bird opened their eyes, I was the one they saw first so they both imprinted on me and followed me everywhere.
The Saturday I released Alfred in my backyard, I stayed with him most of the morning as he flew away and returned to me. After one flight, he perched on a bench and released a purple squirt – mulberries from our neighbor’s tree! Then, I knew he would be fine on his own. When I came back from a trip a few days later, I called to him and he circled above me with a group of starlings. He answered every call of mine with his own chirp, saying, “I’m happy, I’m so happy!”
Living in Colorado, I’ve volunteered at the Boulder Valley Humane Society and the Rocky Mountain Riding Therapy Center.
In 2005, I adopted a rescued eight-year-old mare, Joy, visiting her at a barn outside of town nearly every day. Together we explored healing with the Divine Mother and slowly developed a lasting trust in each other. I learned how incredibly intelligent she was, as most horses are, along with her capacity for devotion and love. I cherished every moment with my girl until she transitioned.
Animals continue to be my best friends in life. If you’ve read this far, I imagine you understand.
